Our curriculum is based on National Curriculum 2014 requirements, whilst being unique to our school and setting. The beautiful environment in which our school stands, with its rich history, form a key part of many areas of our children’s education.
We also use Lancashire Key Learning documents as part of the planning and assessment of your child’s learning, encompassing National Curriculum 2014.
The content of these units can be discussed with your child’s teacher in school.
Also alongside our curriculum are the ‘child-friendly’ targets for writing and reading from Year 1 to Year 6. These are being used by your child’s teacher to drive progress in both writing and reading across the curriculum. They are written in ‘child-friendly’ language in order to help the children fully understand the next steps in their learning. These directly relate to Lancashire’s ‘Learning and Progression Steps for Writing and Reading’.
